The Hopeful Heroines : The Hopeful Heroines (Xanthe Alexis on vocals/guitar and Harriet L on violin/vocals) sang songs about love, the simple joys of staring at the stars, killing birds (well not really…”It’s a metaphor” Xanthe exclaimed), and, as Xanthe so wonderfully put it, “doing someone then sending them away.” Xanthe’s solo vocal is a formidable thing; going from a plaintive whisper to a roar in the blink of an eye. Thrill The World : Lola Spitfire and Peaks and Pasties Presents… Thrill The World 2009 in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs - October 19, 2009 – Thrill The World an annual worldwide simultaneous dance of “Thriller” for charity and world records; a tribute to Michael Jackson since 2006.

Initially, TTW started out as a “cool idea” but has since exploded into an international dance phenomenon across 5 continents. It began in 2006 with 62 zombies dancing “Thriller” creating a Guinness Record. By 2008 TTW had grown to 4,179 people in 10 countries. Now here we are in 2009 and Colorado Springs will be participating in making history with TTW.

This years Thrill time is set for 12:30am GMT/UTC on Sunday, October 25, 2009. This means that it will be 6:30pm on Saturday October 24, 2009 for Colorado Springs.

With Jeff Fuller (keyboard/guitars/vocals ), Julian Dumont (drums/vocals), Ryan Spradlin (guitar/keyboard/vocals), Mike Nipp (bass/vocals) and Jay Schwan (keyboards) at the helm, they did a set of Cars covers that made you smile, made you dance and made you happy that someone out there remembered how simply spooky cool the Cars were.
